You have never played Volleyball before and want to try out the sport.
You have played Volleyball a few times at school or similar situations. At level 1 we go through the different basics (underhand pass, overhand, bagger, pass, serve). Goal is to get an understanding of the sport in general and start playing match.
For this level you know the different hits and can execute them with good fall out mostly. At level 2 matchplay and team building and communication is important, we also go through the different rules of Volleyball. Goal is to have a good understanding of positions and hits, and can pass/play a ball on three hits.
At this level you are aware of your team players and can play a ball with attack. Matchplay is even more crucial at this level, and it’s important to have a steady level of technique and communication. Goal is to be able to pass to position 2,3,4, have backspike knowledge, great communication, overhand serve and most balls go to attack.
At this level you are well aware and comfortable with terminology, positions, rules and fast enough to save a situation so the game continues. Technique training is still needed, but at a higher level. Goal is to be able to read the game instead of overthinking ”where/how/when”. More advanced hits are practiced. Be able to take nearly all serves and pass them with quality and have flawless communication within the team.
The highest level of Volleyball at SSIF. When playing everything falls naturally and automatically, such as how to play/think/pass the ball/what option that’s best for the situation. You’re aware of your team and can communicate well in all situations. Technique is well practiced.
